History
Law Students’ Free Legal Aid Organization (later known as Juss-Buss) opened its door for the population in Oslo for the first time on September 24th 1971. A group of law students from the University of Oslo offered free legal aid with regards to judicial enquiries to inhabitants in the capital from a newly bought bus fit up to an office.

The initiative was founded on the basis of on the following background: During the autumn of 1969 a group of law students began to ponder the idea of founding a free legal aid organization in connection with the law faculty. The knowledge of the maladjusted legal service between socially deprived individuals and groups strong with resources which entailed to the first-mentioned receiving the least satisfactory legal aid, and the uncertainty with regards to the need for legal aid amongst these groups and more generally, underlined the importance of the task. Simultaneously there was a dawning mood with several students at the theoretical study that the studies had to be supplemented with practical socio-political work.
